Our Special School and Vocational Centre

Rodor House Education is part of Rodor Housing & Support which also provides residential care in children’s homes.

At Rodor House Education, we provide education for young people who have difficulties in accessing learning. Our local footprint includes a special school and vocational centre for those who may be in care or may have statements of special educational needs. We also provide education within our children’s homes for young people with complex difficulties.

Across Rodor Housing and Support education we support young people who present emotional and behavioural challenges, those with more complex needs including autism and for young people who have experienced abuse. Our school and its linked children’s homes focus on one or more of these areas of special needs.

At Rodor are responsible for the education outcomes for children from the ages of 7 to 18 years. Our school provides an alternative to mainstream education offering learners the opportunity to work with specialist, trained staff in small group settings. We know that in the right environment, with the right support, young people can achieve success, leaving school with the skills needed for adult life.

With appropriately targeted support, our students confidently engage with learning, achieve success and leave compulsory education with positive outcomes and planned pathways to adult life.

Our specialism is in integrating education with care and therapeutic support to meet the very specific needs of those with the most complex conditions. Our specialist teams are able to offer learning and behavioural support to ensure our students access a full curriculum and achieve a range of qualifications, drawing on the national curriculum, examination courses and a breadth of accredited vocational experiences.

Our local network is uniquely designed to offer learning to young people whose education is at risk. We are committed to working closely with local authorities to ensure we are responsive to local needs in each region, with a relentless focus on creating the best outcomes for young people.
